How do I choose the right tires for my Ford

What kind of tires should I have for my Ford?

Your vehicle requires all-season tires or performance tires, and winter tires depending on different factors such as your location and driving habits. Learn about each type below to see which tire is right for you.

For information related to your specific vehicle, refer to your Owner's Manual

All-Season Tires

All-season tires, also known as all-weather tires, are designed to perform well in a variety of conditions. They have versatile traction for certain wet, dry, and lightly snow-covered roads, and have grooves in the tread pattern which help improve grip.

Note: While they are the most adaptable, all-season tires will not provide the same amount of extreme grip and sharp handling as a performance tire, nor the ability to trek through deep snow or drive on ice like a winter tire.

Performance Tires

Performance tires, or summer tires, are designed to increase handling, traction, cornering, and braking, in dry and wet warm weather. These tires have unique tread patterns, construction features, and rubber compounds, which help provide enhanced precision and responsiveness. You can identify this type of tire by its short, low-profile sidewall.

Winter Tires

Winter tires are made with a rubber compound which remains flexible in extremely cold temperatures to grip the road better and have larger tire tread gaps to help increase traction on slush, snow, and ice. When purchasing, look for the mountain snowflake symbol which lets you know they meet specific traction performance requirements set by the Tire and Rubber Association of Canada.
